After two months of searching for a miniature donkey we heard of four that were available. With trailer in tow and much anticipation we left for our two day adventure.

Our intentions were to purchase one miniature donkey for a pet. We spent about thirty minutes trying to decide which one was to go home with us. That was an impossible task!  Each one with their big, soft,brown eyes, their loving nature and big ears won our hearts. You got it! All four headed for Ass-Pirin Acres!

After just one week with these delightful creatures, we decided we would like to breed miniature donkeys. We decided then that we were dedicated to improve and preserve this wonderful breed of donkeys. With selective purchasing and breeding, Ass-Pirin Acres now is the home of a hundred plus quality donkeys.

We still have two of the four original donkeys. Our beloved Trudy left us in January 1998 at over forty years of age. We miss her. She was a very special donkey.
